Past of our hotel...

Ex air force officer of the Hungarian Royal Army, Professor Ferenc Jós Badinyi (1909 - 10th of March 2007) and his wife (Greta Tolnay, born in Kanizsa) had the house built in 1936-37.

The building was built from the stone which had been from exploited around Hévíz. The stones were trimmed and bound together with a sort of adhesive. The length of their edges is about 60 cm, their front surface is kept in the original form, in the inside the surface is plastered with a mixture of sand and lime.

The construction work took 6 months, 12 bricklayers and 20 unskilled workers worked on the project. The old roof structure was constructed and covered in one month. The doors and windows were made from larch-wood on the spot. The house had two different functions: the main building gave place to 12 rooms with bathrooms and toilets, the side building became home of the family.

Hinting on the owners the hotel was called "2nd Liutenant Guesthouse" and was opened in 1937.

Between 1937 and 1939 it also accommodated noble Austrian and German guests. That time it was typical for the head chef to visit all the guests to find out what meals should be prepared.

The golden age of the hotel was interrupted by the 2nd World War and the owners were unable to run the hotel according to their own concept.

The hotel was taken into public ownership by the Hungarian State in 1945 and was run as a holiday home until 1990.

In the 1990s the building was left to its fate, its condition started deteriorating, the roof got completely distroyed. The owners of the ANNUITAS joint stock company have found this once beautiful building in this desperate state and decided to renew it in its original form and restore its old fame.

After the two-year long complete reconstruction the hotel (under a new name: Kis Helikon Hotel***) was reopened and now welcomes its guests as a four star hotel.

The ex-owner of the house visited the hotel in 2002, at the age of 93, and was utterly satisfied with the building and the way the new owners run the hotel.

The management of the Kis Helikon Hotel introduces the exclusive hotel which is from 07.03.2006 4 star one. According to this fact many ceremonies will be organized and we celebrate the 70 th anniversery of the hotel this year as well.

The unique conditions of the hotel assure excellent possibilities to fulfil the personal demands of the guests. During the preparing of the personal offers we get into touch with our guests. We try to get to know the particular wishes of the guests and we do our best to prepare a special offer for our each guest.

The Kis Helikon Hotel is easy to approach from the main street of Hévíz. It is situated in the cure quarter of the city, a little bit hidden in a quiet park area but not displayed. It is at 5-8 minutes walk from the lake.

The house was built in 1936 from the "stones of Hévíz". The original form of the house was kept during the renovation. In its park there are 70-80 years old line-trees. The park is under nature conservation and provides a special atmosphere.

The hotel with the spirituality of the past times has 7 superior and 12 classic rooms. The elegant superior rooms satisfy all demands of comfort. The interior of the rooms reflects the character of the building: oaken furniture, minibar (on request), telephone, television. The equipment of the bathroom is the bathrobe, the hair dryer, and the small present like the guest-slippers. The unlimited using of the Wellness Centre assures our guests to return to the weekdays well recreated and recharged (sauna, jacuzzi, hydromassage- and steamcabine, fitness machine, bicycle).

We welcome our guests at their arrival with a little surprise (champagne or fruits). Our guests can enjoy their rest on the balcony of the rooms, on the terracces and in the built french garden. The furnishing of the classic rooms represents the special atmosphere for the hotel. The furniture of the rooms are made from oak, they are equiped with minibar (after wish), telephone, television.

Our restaurant has a n extremly high level. We prefer hungarian flavours, that is why we prepare home-made dishes from hungarian prime products. Our restaurant offers for the guests the worldwide famous exclusive hungarian hospitality, gastronomie nights, candle-light dinners and typical traditional hungarian dishes.

Our wine bar in a beautiful garden waits for the guests with high quality hungarian wines. It is an ideal place to have an afternoon nap, for meetings, for randevous, for musical nights, parties.

Our Business Studio, Section Room has telephone, fax, internet, flip-chart, at request with secretary service, interpreting. We provide excellent opportunities to business meetings for small groups.

The traditional cure of Hévíz is based on the curative power of the lake, that is the reason why the specialists apply the natural therapy in their cures. In the rheumatism practice next to the hotel,which is easy to approach across the hotel garden,our guests can take the following treatments: electro and balneotherapy, parafango, packs, therapeutic exercises.

Our Wellness Centre is at our guests' disposal: with sauna, jacuzzi, hydro-massage and steam cabine, fitness machine, a trainer and the hotel has also different massage possibilities (refreshing, relax, shiatsu, scan tao).

Our free facilities are using the safe at the reception, the lockup carpark for the guests, who are travelling by car, a beautiful garden from spring to autumn, a sun-deck and beach umbrella.
